A Tax Cut for the Rich

No matter what political party you belong to or if you’re an independent, you should be scared regarding the bill approved by the House of Representatives. There are numerous articles that explain the differences between the House plan and Obama care and therefore, I want to mainly focus on the underlying motive for House Republicans to pass their health care plan.

We should all quit calling the plan passed by the GOP, healthcare but instead refer to it as a massive tax cut for the wealthy and a redistribution of wealth from the poorest among us, to the top 2% in this country. The GOP plan reduces Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion. Medicaid monies are utilized to pay for healthcare that the poorest people would otherwise not be able to afford. The reason for the reduction in Medicaid and dramatic reductions in the health services provided to the number of people covered is to pay for the Trump tax plan. This diversion will further give the top 2% of the wealthiest Americans substantial additional income.

The Republican Party cannot proceed with the implementation of the tax cuts without paying for them. So they are diverting money currently budgeted for the poor and what some have called the reverse Robin Hood affect. A reduction in the provisions currently included within the Obama care substantially reduces medical costs and therefore the Medicaid funds currently utilized for healthcare, can be eliminated.

How to maintain a strong – informed and inclusive “Indivisible” Group

How to maintain a strong–informed and inclusive “Indivisible” Group

We have visited nearly 200 indivisible groups and believe half need to improve how they communicate and the mechanism by which members are kept informed.

Let us first start by stating the best medium to maintain and grow a strong organization. If you have not already done so, you need to create a group page on Facebook.  Or find another social media outlets that permits consistent two-way communication that Facebook group pages allow. Many groups have created excellent websites that do not permit two-way communications within the group. Others, have created Facebook pages that do not permit communication for members or those who have liked the page. Even if you have created a page, convert it to a group at the earliest possible date.

The other thing that I personally find very obtrusive is the requirement to have all posts be approved prior to posting.  Evaluate membership upfront by creating a closed group. The indivisible movement is not necessarily centered on converting people from the other party and therefore only individuals interested in resisting the current political agenda should be brought and permitted to participate within the group. Once these have been screened by group administrators and moderators, I do not see a need to screen and approve all posts. Prior approval before posting negates the ability of members to engage in a conversation in the moment.  Aside from that, if you have been permitted membership in a group, it is simply irritating waiting to have a post approved. Be all inclusive.

Do not be a hog and only appoint one administrator. Some of the best pages have as many as six administrators, and several moderators that monitor the group throughout the day. Establish a chief administrator that gives each of the other administrators an area of concern or a specific task. Some of the best pages assign an administrator to track all of the votes by Senators and the Congressional district representative associated with the group. Below is a short list of the duties you can assign to an administrator or moderator.

To reiterate, keep the elegant websites, Twitter accounts and Facebook pages, but creating a Facebook group page is essential to reaching the groups highest potential possible.

  1. Post voting record of your federal representatives:
  2. Post voting record of state representatives.
  3. Post articles and relevant information on certain topics such as; Environmental Protection, employment, health care, infrastructure stimulus and taxes. Any one of the subjects can keep a group official busy.
  4. Some of the most informative and interesting groups also assign a person to setup and maintain statistical files. These are very informative if popular subjects are selected. A good example of this is a statistical display of the deficit or surplus for each president over the last 50 years. Another, is a statistical listing of the number of jobs created by each president over 50 years. These types of files also keep membership informed.

Lets Resist Trump- For he is “The Liar King.”

The Donald Trump Report on Presidential Actions

You may not know it, but to all Trump voters, you have been punched in the stomach, slapped, kicked while you were down and then dragged to a garbage dump by the man you voted for. This report includes a brief description on how Trump’s actions affects us as Americans. They are especially impact the lower and middle classes.

Each action is briefly described and a link provided in the event you desire additional information or verification of our report.

It will cost you more to buy or sell your home

You might have seen headlines suggesting President Donald Trump raised taxes on middle-class homeowners, but that’s not an accurate way to portray what happened. Instead, Trump signed an administrative order to halt a fee rate cut, announced just days earlier by the Obama administration, that would have saved homebuyers who don’t have big down payments Opens a New Window.and use Federal Housing Administration-backed home loans an average of about $450 annually in their monthly house payments.

The order will make home loans more costly for a large group of buyers — about 40% of millennial buyers use the program targeted by the Trump order. That, in turn, can make life harder on older owners looking to sell their homes and trade up.  Fox Business

The time has passed to take action – But it’s not too late

Lady Liberty Crying

Don’t waste your time questioning the conscious of a hard core Trump supporter. If you can continue to respect a person who sexually gropes women, lying more than 50% of the time, and obstructing an investigation by Congress, then you have bought into beliefs and practices, outside the mainstream morality and values of our culture. In recent surveys Trump’s approval rating has reached a low of 34% which can be interpreted to mean they still respect his presidency. They also believe he’s doing an excellent job as President although relatively few can name a single accomplishment other than signing executive orders. Most of which are lingering in legal turmoil and future lawsuits that may drag their disposition out for years.

The rest of us has to fight to maintain the American values of non-obstructive voting rights, the freedom of women to choose, and fair none discriminatory practices by government. Even Thomas Jefferson knew the division among party leaders would do harm to the country. Jefferson once said, “The greatest good we can do our country is to heal its party divisions and make them one people. I do not speak of their leaders who are incurable, but of the honest and well-informed body of the people.” (Letter to John Dickinson J. MSS. July 23, 1801). Most of us realize that Republicans place party first and country second. For if you are illegally obstructing people from voting, what does that say of your value for country and the freedoms it was created upon?

So what can the rest of us do? Brand Trump. This is a tactic that worked for him and we should use it to the fullest extent possible. Never just referred to him as Donald Trump – referred to him as Lying Trump, The Liar King, The Groper in Chief, or pick another phrase and consistently use it. Each day or even each week, point out his inconsistencies and lies and share them on social media. Remember, the tea party movement was predicated on a constant message that was rarely truthful. And we must do the same without any hesitation or respite from action. Be “Indivisible,”  impossible to divide or separate.

Who are the Members of “Indivisible?”

                    Indivisible  Survey-II

Since January, 12, 2017 The Randolph Review and the Facebook page, “The Anti-Trump Resistance Coalition,” have been surveying indivisible groups on Facebook. The premise for the survey was to generate information on the characteristics of these groups and the individuals whom have joined them and participate in sponsored events. To conduct the surveys, we chose only closed to groups where membership is screened prior to being accepted into the group. These groups contain members whose basic emphasis is to Resist Trump.

We conducted each multi-question survey to a point of first 1200 respondents. Once 1200 respondents were reached, the survey ended. There is no specific scientific logic for utilizing a 1200 respondent number other than group member characteristics tend to differ by state and region. For example, the national percent of group membership within the age range of 60 or older, is 40.16%. However, in Florida, that number increases to 44.3% and in California decreases to 36.7%.

We also conducted several single question surveys in which case we stopped collecting data after 500 respondents.  Our latest single question survey ended on Sunday, March 5, 2017. We asked the following question: Did you vote for the Republican Party presidential candidate in the 2016 election? Surprisingly, 4.3% indicated yes.

The results of the multi-question survey that ended on March 5, 2017 is listed and described below.

  1. Prior to your participation in an “Indivisible” Group, have you ever been a member of a formal political organization?

Yes: – 48.33%

No:    51.67%

  1. Have you participated in an “Indivisible” protest?

Yes: –  47.5%

No: –   52.5%

  1. Have you ever been paid to attend an “Indivisible” protest?

Yes: see note

No:   100%

Three respondents did indicate they were paid which we discounted as an  error in selection of the survey question.

  1. Have you ever participated in a political protest other then as a member of Indivisible?

Yes: -69.6%

No: – 30.4%

  1. Please select your age group.

18-29— 9.45%

30-39—14.96%

40-49—17.23%

50-59—18.11%

60 + —40.16%

We also conducted 41 in person and telephone interviews on the above survey questions and numerous others. If you are interested in participating, message me on my Facebook page.

Insurance 101 For Paul Ryan: The Healthy Are Supposed To Help Pay For The Sick

Paul Ryan is aghast that healthy individuals are paying into an insurance pot that’s used when people are sick. But … that’s exactly the way insurance works.

Twitter positively erupted Thursday to school Mr. Health Insurance on the concept.

Everyone pays into the pot and draws on it when they’re sick. Younger people, who tend to be healthier than older people, pay for health insurance like everyone else. They’ll rely on it when when they need it, probably more when they’re older and there are younger, healthier people filing in behind them. It’s the same with car insurance. Some people pay for decades and never get into an accident and never collect on their coverage (though the likelihood of anyone never using health insurance is unlikely).

Obamacare Lite? New GOP Health Care Bill Has Host of Critics

Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, a strong supporter of Obamacare, said it will return many Americans to pre-Obamacare days.

“This bill would strip coverage from millions of people and drive up consumer costs. It shreds the Medicaid social safety net that serves more than 72 million people, including many children, senior citizens and people with disabilities,” said Pollack. “And it once again leaves millions of people in America with chronic illness and disease at the mercy of insurance companies.”

The new GOP health care plan looks a lot like Obamacare to some

A new Republican health care plan keeps much of the basic framework set up by Obamacare, but with a conservative twist, analysts say. But it’s full of holes, with no detail on how to pay for its provisions and no estimates at all of how much it will cost taxpayers.
